In Slovenian language a typical local inn is called gostilna. When there was no mass media gostilna was the centre of social life of Slovenians. This cultural custom has not been out rooted yet and Slovenians still like to hang out in gostilnas. The quality of gostilna is traditionally made local food and wine accompanied by cheerful ambient of guests and talkative waiting staff.
Homesteads and farmhouses are family managed properties with culinary and sometimes also accommodation facilities. They are partly self sustainable and they produce ingredients for the meals they serve. In farmhouses or homesteads you will get local seasonal food prepared on a traditional method. Besides food products many homesteads in Slovenian wine regions also produce their own wine.
